How often do I need to water my plants?

It is important to check your plants daily for watering. If the humidity in your house is low, your tray may require more water, more often. If the humidity in your house is high, your tray may require less water.

What do I use to water my micro greens?

We will provide each customer with a container of in-house mixed nutrient solution to water your plants. The nutrient solution contains, Master Blend, Epsom Salt and Calcium Nitrate.

What is the white fuzz on the surface on the growing medium?

Accepted Answer

The white fuzz that you see are the roots of the plant. Micro greens are surface planted, therefore, the root structure is above the growing medium. This is normal.

How much do I water my micro greens?

If your tray needs water, please use the provided nutrient solution to water your tray.
1 cup for 10x10 Trays
2 cups for 10x20 Trays

How do I water my micro greens?

Accepted Answer

We have provided a second tray under the tray containing your micro greens. Please gently lift the top tray and carefully pour the recommended amount of nutrient solution into the bottom tray. Then gently set the top tray back down. This allows the growing medium to soak up the necessary amount of water.

What growing medium do you use?

We use Coco Coir as the growing medium for our micro greens. Coco Coir is a neutral substance made from the husks of coconuts. It is antimicrobial and allows us to control the nutrients being delivered to the micro greens.

Is there a tray deposit?

There is a one-time fee of $5.00 on your first micro green purchase with Hooked on Ponics. This fee covers the cost of the tray if you choose to not return them when receiving your next order.

How far in advance should I place my order?

We ask that if you would like a specific mix to please give us 7-10 days notice to ensure proper growing time.

Do you have a tray trade program?

We offer our customers a tray trade. This means that you pay the tray deposit on your first order and once you finish your tray of micro greens, we can pick up the empty tray (coco coir and all) and replace it with a fresh tray of micro greens that you order.

Why are your micro greens not precut?

We offer living micro greens in the growing medium to allow our customers to enjoy the growing process of these plants. Growing micro greens this way, also allows for a longer shelf life and allows customers to interact with their food.

Can I purchase the trays out right?

Accepted Answer

You can purchase the trays out right. We will charge a specified fee to cover the cost of the trays to ensure we can replace them for future customers.
